Antithesis, that literally means “opposite”, is a rhetorical device in which two opposite ideas are put together to achieve a contrasting effect. This series of portraits plays all over this narrative expedient. So, behind that exaggeration made of colors, contrasts, flashy clothes and scenic artifacts, we feel the hidden opposite, and reality is indirectly revealed going beyond any fiction. Maybe I could even name this mini-series "lack of color"! I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of communicating something indirectly, avoiding being too explicit or journalistic. There is not a story to tell, but just a game of sensations that aims to leave to the viewer a purely personal and empathic interpretation of what he sees in these simple portraits. A huge thanks to Marta, one of the most inspiring muses of my journey as an independent artist, always ready to pose for me and dedicate some of her time to my artistic visions.
